Palazzo barocco, Positano, Italy.

This stunning Baroque style Palace is one of a kind. It is located high in Positano, about 10 – 15 minutes walk up from the town and beach and has the most impressive views over the town, the typical Amalfi coastline and the Mediteranean sea. Its uphill position and property location makes it difficult to reach and is not advisable for guests with limited mobility. This palace is for rent by Leo Trippi Luxury Travel.

Hotel Encanto in Acapulco by Taller Aragones.

The Encanto Hotel was built in Acapulco with few resources, economic materials, and local labor. The building tries to retain a human scale. Occa- sionally narrow, even small compared to or in contrast with its great heights; it has corners where only two people fit, intimate spaces that shelter and protect its guests. In this hotel, the potential for amazement is con- stant. One cannot help but observe each place, there is no room for distraction: common areas, private spaces, all designed for concentration and relaxation. Encanto is also a great labyrinth whose exits open out onto and are completed by the ocean. Everything was playfully created to generate continual momentum from the sea, to compel those staying there to seek and find a way out, arriving at it always and capturing it with their gazes.

Sextantio Albergo Diffuso Santo Stefano, Italy.

A medieval mountain hamlet where history and designer fittings meet to create a unique cultural experience. There’s nothing quite like this albergo diffuso – meaning something like “scattered lodgings” – anywhere else in the world. Put together by a team passionate about conservation, the hotel is a collection of restored houses and suites dotted around a crumbling hilltop village in the Gran Sasso mountains of central Italy. Thanks to their efforts, the village has been saved from extinction, and its remit now is to pay reverence to its peasant past. This is not a typical hotel: it’s a step back in time, and like its sister project Grotte della Civita, it’s quite unique.

CAPO SPARTIVENTO LIGHTHOUSE in Cagliari, Italy.

Welcome to the Lighthouse. The idea of hospitality that we like to offer is to be and let you feel at home. For this reason we chose to don’t have a menu, specific times, or a reception. Our Chef and our Maitre, talking with you, will decide your lunch or dinner, to taste the best wines of the island and making you enjoy the best of Sardinian cuisine properly “contaminated” by the creativity of our Chef. We will try, elegantly, to meet your every need.  The Lighthouse is a passion for all of us, and far beyond just a job. And that’s why we would like to offer more than a simple vacation, but a unique experience. Welcome to your home.

The Capo Spartivento Lighthouse was built in 1856 by the Italian Navy. During the last war it was machine-gunned by American planes and, later on, it functioned as the Lighthouse keeper residence until the late 80s. It has lit the way for seamen for over 150 years, slicing the darkness like a sword with its welcoming beam of light, it has become a luxury guesthouse without losing its original function. The Lighthouse is open all months of the year, and it’s really amazing in summer and even in winter with the fantastic stormy weather of the location. More info: CAPO SPARTIVENTO LIGHTHOUSE

Caro Hotel by Francesc Rifé Studio.

Located in the heart of the city, little more than 200 metres from Valencia Cathedral and the Basilica, the Caro Hotel is the first historical monument-hotel in Valencia. An urban and commercially independent hotel, the establishment has intelligently merged the legacy of historical substrata lying within its walls with the most vanguard of interior design.

Unique and authentic in style, the project undertaken by the interior designer Francesc Rifé is meticulous in its attention to detail, imbuing the hotel with a contemporary air, clean, geometric lines, which merge seamlessly with the original architectonic features of the former Palace of the Marquis of Caro, whose eclectic facade dates back to the nineteenth century. Beyond its facade, its walls stand guard over an unparalleled inheritance of more than 2,000 years of history, of which the original mosaic belonging to the founding city of the Roman era, «Valentia Edetanorum» (2nd century B.C.), the thirteenth-century Arabic defensive wall, several gothic arches and nineteenth-century constructions have been preserved, restored and integrated into its spaces.

Aenaon Villas in Santorini.

20/11/2012 3 comments

When the island of Santorini is your destination, it will become a destination for life. Once you visit aenaon villas and experience the warm hospitality of this uncomparable place, you want to come back time and time again.  The location is unique! It is situated at the top of a steep slope, at the northern part of the island where the land was carved to admire an endless horizon, the deep blue of the Aegean Sea, the caldera, the volcano and breathtaking sunsets. Right at the ancient path that connects Oia with Imerovigli and Fira, it overlooks the beautiful beaches spanning along the east cost of the island. The combination of the brlliant white with the volcanic Santorinian stone has created a traditional complex of luxurious villas whose beautiful stonework evokes a feeling of rough grandeur. The result proves, that respect for tradition can coexist in perfect harmony with the luxuries of modern facilities.
